When a recipe calls for "heavy cream" does that mean NESTLE CREAM - as in the kind that comes in tetra bricks?

Sorry to say, but Nestle cream doesn't qualify as good heavy cream. I like Anchor, Elle & Vire and President's. Way too costly though. It really depends on the dish.

If you're making carbonara, creme fraiche, Potato Gratin, then Nestle cream would be a poor choice since I find it too thick.

nestle cream is really for salads...that's why it's thick.

heavy cream is mainly used on Cream soups, sauces, dessert items. generally, a fat content of 36% is needed for it to be called or classified as Heavy cream. Yes, its very expensive. a one liter carton can cost P300, but Anchor has heavy cream that only costs P190.
Hope this helps

Really?  :o I haven't seen Anchor heavy cream that affordable. The one that I saw in the supermarket at that price is the Anchor Culinary Cream. can I use that interchangeably with the Anchor Whipping Cream?
