And what better way to celebrate it than eating one? Though Italian in origin, there are no hard and fast rules on packing a panini. As long as it has two pieces of bread with stuff inside, then it's a panini—or panino if it uses a small bread roll. In Italy, panini is its plural form; and outside it's paninis—with an "s."
