See how you can save so much time and energy with this shiny gadget.
This shiny gadget can chop, grate, and puree in seconds!
1 Kitchen whiz
A food processor is an electric kitchen appliance that uses several different blades to perform repetitive tasks involved in food preparation such as chopping, grating, and pureeing.
2 Top chop!
The first commercial food processor, known as the Robot-Coupe, was invented in 1960 when a French catering company salesman noticed his clients' need for a device that could speed up the tedious and time-consuming tasks of chopping and mixing. It was only in the 1970s when the domestic food processor was introduced to households.
3 Blade runner!
Unlike other machines with a fixed blade, the food processor has interchangeable blades and disks that allow it to quickly perform a multitude of tasks: slicing or chopping fruits and vegetables, grinding meats and nuts, grating cheese, pureeing mixtures, and even mixing and kneading dough. This makes the food processor an indispensable kitchen tool—it saves the cook a great deal of time and effort!
4 Size matters
Food processors vary in size (with capacities ranging from 2 cups to 14 cups) and the type of functions they're able to perform.
