It's excellent for making sandwiches, but the panini press can also do a few other surprising things. Here are three ideas to start with. | Tools | Panini Press

Say cheese
Experiment with different versions of everyone's favorite grilled cheese sandwich. Make it with different cheeses, try it with mayonnaise, road-test combinations like caramelized onions and blue cheese or Brie and pear. You can use different kinds of bread, too!

Use it to grill meats!
Try boneless pork chops or chicken breasts that have been pounded and flattened. Avoid meats that are fatty as machines like this usually don't have a mechanism for grease runoff.  (RELATED recipes: Grilled Char Siu Pork Chops, Yogurt and Spice-marinated Chicken Breasts, Panini-grilled Tuna Steak with Bistek Tagalog Sauce, panini recipes)

Make ice cream cones
Place a tablespoon of sweet batter onto the grill and cook until it's browned but still pliable. Wrap the warm cone around a paper or plastic cone mold and let the shape set. (RELATED recipes: Strawberry Cream Cannoli, Banana Chocnut Trifle)
