WATCH: How to Make Homemade Chocnut

This version might just be better than the ones you have to buy at the store.

This classic Pinoy candy will bring you back to your childhood! It's a combo of two things we love: chocolate and peanuts. And just because it's easily bought from the store doesn't mean a homemade version is hard to make. With a little effort, you too can make this one slow day and store until you crave a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate and peanut candy. You can make these at home and sell them in time for the holidays, too!

Homemade Chocnut

Takes 15 minutes plus cooling and wrapping

Makes 24 candies

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

1/4 cup natural peanut butter, sweetened

2/3 cup powdered milk

1 In a large bowl, add melted chocolate and peanut butter. Stir with a silicone spatula until combined. Add milk powder, and stir until well combined.

2 Transfer mixture to a frying pan over low heat. Using a silicone spatula, cook the mixture stirring constantly for around 5 minutes, being careful not to scorch it.

3 Once mixture looks dry and is heated through, transfer to a bowl and spread mixture into an even layer to speed up cooling.

4 Once cool enough to handle, spoon crumbled mixture into ice cube trays with long molds. Press down with your fingers to completely fill each mold. For best results, cover lightly and let stand at room temperature overnight to dry the candies further. Let cool completely before cutting into bite-sized pieces and wrapping in parchment or wax paper. Store in airtight containers.
