Unlike most folks I know, I never liked chocolate cake. But after being force-fed many versions of it from working on Yummy's annual dessert issue to friends having me taste their latest baked creation, I find my aversion to it softening. In fact, I couldn't help but take home a slice of Starbucks' Chocolate Toffee Cake last Christmas thrice!

The same goes for cooking. It was something I had to do when I found myself living abroad solo and on a tight budget. But now, I have to say I love it! Sometimes, it takes us a while to find our way to the good stuff. I hope you find your passions and favorites soon. Take inspiration from our feature stories and give our recipes a try. You just might be surprised to discover your one true love!
