Chocolate Mousse



Chocolate Mousse

Prep Time 1 hour 10 minutes (includes chilling time of 1 hour)  Cooking Time 10 minutes

 

15 ounces bittersweet/dark chocolate, finely chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 cups heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks


 

Place the chocolate and 1/2 cup heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for 10 seconds; then stir to combine melted chocolate and cream. If bits of chocolate remain, heat for another 10 seconds and that should do it. Whisk; then set aside to let cool.

  Once the chocolate mixture has cooled to room temperature, fold in the whipped cream. It will be a bit runny—pour into serving container and chill in the refrigerator until serving time.

    Hi Yummy! Thank you for posting this recipe! I've been very interested with chocolate mousse since my classmates back in high school (12 years ago, I'm a young adult now) ate all the chocolate mousse in the school fair and left me with nothing!

    im from the province and i can't find heavy cream in the groceries, is there a substitute for this?
