Easy Matcha Layered Cake

Easy Matcha Layered Cake

Our slice-and-assemble trick saves you lots of time in the kitchen.

1/2 cup softened cream cheese
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons matcha powder
1/2 cup chopped pistachio nuts

1   Make matcha-cream cheese frosting: Using an electric blender, beat softened cream cheese, butter, vanilla, sugar, and matcha powder until smooth.

2 Prepare chopped pistachio nuts and set aside.

3  Using the rim of a glass, cut 9 to 12 pieces in a 1/2-inch thick chocolate cake.

4  In 3 tall glasses, assemble layers starting with chocolate cake, frosting, and then chopped pistachio; repeat until glass is nearly full. Chill until ready to serve.
