Swiss Cheese Angus Sliders

These mini burgers are great for the road trip to the beach. Bring along small bags of different potato chips so everyone can choose their own sides.

Serves Prep Time 12 minutes  Cooking Time 20 minutes

200 grams ground Angus beef
80 grams pork sausage, casing removed
half an onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/8 teaspoon each of onion and garlic powders
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons mix of grated Emmenthal, Gruyere, and Appenzeller cheeses
1 burger bun
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
1 red onion, thinly sliced
a bunch of mixed greens with arugula
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

In a mixing bowl, combine first 7 ingredients together until a patty can be formed.

Sear burger patty on high heat until brown on both sides, then transfer to a very hot grill and cook through.

Top with grated cheeses and cook until melted.

Slice burger buns in half and brush cut side with softened butter. Grill until crisp.

Place burger patty with melted cheese on top of a bun, then top with tomato and onion rings. Top with mixed greens and drizzle with Dijon mustard.
