What makes a perfect meal? This sweet cured pork plus steamed rice and eggs! Yum!
Yield about 3/4 kilo (serves 6 to 8) Prep Time 2 hours, including preparation and resting time
Cooking Time 15 to 20 minutes
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons rock salt
5 tablespoons brown sugar
pinch of prague powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon local white vinegar
1/1 kilo pork picnic (kasim), sliced
1 In a bowl, mix garlic, salt, brown sugar, prague powder, pepper, and vinegar; stir well.
2 Add sliced pork kasim. Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
3 To cook, fry in hot oil. Drain oil before serving.
Substitution tip: Deboned chicken thighs are great for this recipe too.
