Topped with a classic trio—ground beef, fried egg, and fried bananas—this plate of rice makes for a wonderful meal anytime of the day.

Prep Time 12 minutes
Cooking Time 15 minutes

4 eggs, fried to your liking (sunny side up)
5 saging na saba
oil for frying (around 3/4 cups)
cooked rice

For the ground beef mixture:
400 grams ground beef
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove of garlic, chopped
1/3 cup onions, minced
1/3 cup carrots, diced
1/4 cup raisins
2 tablespoons tomato paste
salt and pepper to taste
dash of Worcestershire sauce
dash of tabasco sauce

In a pan, sauté onions, garlic, and carrots in olive oil and tomato paste. Cook until the tomato paste has darkened in color but is not burned.

Add the ground beef and cook, stirring well.

Add all the sauces and seasonings. If the mixture is too dry, add 2 more tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Cook in the raisins when the meat is three-fourths cooked. Set aside.

Slice the bananas lengthwise and fry in oil until golden. Set aside.5  To assemble: Place rice in a ring mold and drop onto plate. Top with ground beef mixture, then fried egg. Place fried bananas on the side.
