Makes 1 cup (about 2 to 3 servings) Prep Time 10 minutes Cooking Time 5 minutes
For babies 12 months or older
3 cups broccoli florets (about 430 grams)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup boiled water, breast milk, or formula
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for sprinkling
1 Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 30 seconds; drain.
2 In a medium frying pan, melt butter. Sauté garlic until fragrant. Add broccoli and mix well. Transfer to a bowl or the container of an immersion blender. Add water, milk, or formula and Parmesan cheese. Purée until smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with finely grated Parmesan cheese.
Storing tip: Store homemade baby food in a clean, covered container in the refrigerator. Use cooked fruits and vegetables within 3 days.
