Coffee-Rubbed Prime Rib

Coffee-Rubbed Prime Rib

Just the aroma of fresh coffee would make you feel better on a bad day, what more if you are served with this delectable Coffee-rubbed Prime Rib dish.

Serves 1  Prep Time 5 minutes  Cooking Time 10 minutes

 

1 piece prime rib or rib-eye steak
1 tablespoon coffee rub

1/4cup espresso powder
1/4 cup chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons coarsely ground coriander
1 tablespoon dry mustard

 

Make the coffee rub: Combine espresso, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, Italian seasoning salt, pepper, coriander, and dry mustard in a bowl and mix well. Place in an airtight container, store at room temperature, and keep for later use.

Prepare the steak: Rub the steak with coffee rub on both sides. Set aside.

Heat a grill pan on high heat until smoky. Place the steak in the pan and cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes.

4  Place on a serving plate with a siding of salad greens drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice.
