Grilled Char Siu Pork Chops



Grilled Char Siu Pork Chops

Easy to make and easy on the budget, these delectable pork chops are a sure winner! To pack in more flavor, marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

Serves 2 to 3  Prep Time 5 minutes, plus 6 hours marinating time 
Cooking Time
8 to 12 minutes

 

1/4 cup store-bought char siu sauce, divided
1 1/2 tablespoons Shaohsing wine
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
450 grams pork chops, sliced into 1/3-inch-thick pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
stir-fried snow peas to serve (optional)

 

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons char siu sauce, Shaohsing wine, garlic, and black pepper. Pour mixture over pork chops and marinate for at least 6 hours in the refrigerator.

Grill pork chops over medium hot coals or on an iron griddle. Brush the grates or the griddle with oil to prevent the pork chops from sticking.Brush both sides of pork chops with remaining char siu sauce while grilling. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes on each side or until pork chops are fully cooked. Serve with stir-fried snow peas.

Shopping tip  Char siu sauce is available in supermarkets in popular brands such as Lee Kum Kee.
