Even grownups get bored with the ordinary hotdog in a bun. Here's an original recipe that will have kids—and parents—craving for more.
Serves 6 Prep Time 5 minutes Cooking Time 30 minutes
9 pieces frankfurter or any hotdog
6 medium potatoes
1/4 pound Velveeta or quick-melt cheese, sliced
1 cup hot milk
1 tablespoon mustard
salt, to taste
1 cup mixed vegetables, cooked in melted butter
1 Cook hotdogs in boiling water for 10 minutes. Then cut each in half lengthwise.
2 Place cut side up on cookie sheet in groups of 3.
3 Boil potatoes in salted water until done. Mash.
4 Melt cheese in hot milk then add to mashed potatoes. Add mustard and salt.
5 Pile potatoes on top of hotdogs, followed by mixed veggies. Serve as finger food.
