Mita's Fudgy Brownies

Mita's Fudgy Brownies

This rich and sweet brownie is one of the most popular products at Mita’s Bakeshop, a home-based baking business run by Nica and Manny Cinco. To find out more about the Cincos and their French country-style home kitchen, see “Cozy in the kitchen” in the October 2010 issue of Yummy.  


Makes
16 2x2-inch brownies  Prep Time 25 minutes  Baking Time 25 to 30 minutes

 

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, to serve

 

1  Preheat oven to 350ºF.

2  Cream the butter and sugar until light.

3  Add eggs and vanilla.

4  Add cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

5  Pour batter into a greased 8x8-inch pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve a la mode, if desired.
