One nutty and sweet breakfast-in-bed item.

 Serves 2 to 3

2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon sugar
6 to 8 slices of stale white bread
Nutella
butter

 

1   Whisk eggs, milk and sugar together in a large bowl.

2   Take a slice of stale white bread, spread with a thick layer of Nutella, and sandwich with a second piece of bread.

3   Take the sandwich and soak in the egg mixture for about a minute each—flip the sandwich to make sure each side is fully coated, but avoid that limp bread drench.

4  Heat a skillet and add a tablespoon of butter.

5  Add your soaked Nutella sandwiches to the pan and allow them to cook undisturbed until golden brown (2 to 3  minutes).  Flip and cook other side.

6  Serve fresh out of the pan with a sprinkling of confectioner’s sugar, ground cinnamon or chocolate syrup.
