Tired of the typical French toast or the regular PB&J sandwich? Combine the two and include a variety of fillings for a school snack your kids' classmates will be envious of.

ServesPrep Time 5 minutes  Cooking Time 5 minutes

4 slices whole wheat bread
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 of a large apple, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons strawberry or grape jelly
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons butter

Spread peanut butter on two slices of bread then top with apple slices. Then spread jelly on the other two slices of bread. Combine the two slices to form a sandwich.

In a mixing bowl, lightly beat eggs and heavy cream together. Set aside.                           

Meanwhile, melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.

Prepare sandwiches for toasting: Dip sandwich in the egg mixture, coating well. Then place it in skillet and brown both sides. Repeat for all sandwiches. Serve immediately.
