This chicken's sticky sauce makes it a must-use-your-hands eating experience. Makes 1 dozen Prep Time 15 minutes Cooking Time 10 to 15 minutes
For the coating1 cup all-purpose flour1 teaspoon five-spice powder1 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon peppercooking oil, for deep-frying 12 pieces chicken wingsFor the honey-orange glaze1 tablespoon oil1 tablespoon ginger, sliced very thinly1 tablespoon grated orange zest1/2 cup honey
1 In a small bowl, mix together flour, five-spice powder, salt, and pepper. 2 Heat oil in a medium saucepan to about 375ºF. 3 Coat wings well with the flour mixture.4 Fry wings for 10 to 15 minutes, or until parts turn golden brown. Remove from heat and immediately drain on paper towels.5 Make the Honey-Orange Glaze: In a medium saucepan, heat oil on medium heat and sauté ginger for 1 minute. Add grated orange peel, then add honey. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.6 Place wings in batches in the pan and toss to coat the wings with the glaze. Serve as desired.RELATED:
