Quick and easy, this dish is perfect with a hot bowl of rice. You can marinate the chicken the night before and just fry it up in the morning.

 

Serves 4
Prep Time 5 minutes plus marinating time
Cooking Time 15 minutes



4 (125-gram) chicken breast fillets
2 teaspoons garlic powder
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons butter4 cloves garlic, minced
4 tablespoons brown sugarwhite rice, to serve
steamed vegetables, to serve


Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.



In a nonstick saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.



Add chicken and sear on both sides for around 4 minutes each.



Sprinkle brown sugar on the top of chicken. Sear for another 2 minutes or until sugar has melted and chicken is fully cooked. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables, if desired.

 

 

Cooking tip: You can also bake the chicken in the oven. Place each chicken fillet on a piece of aluminium foil; top with butter, minced garlic, and brown sugar. Wrap and bake in a 350°f oven for 10 to 15 minutes
