Quick and easy, this dish is perfect with a hot bowl of rice. You can marinate the chicken the night before and just fry it up in the morning.
Prep Time 5 minutes plus marinating time
Cooking Time 15 minutes
4 (125-gram) chicken breast fillets
2 teaspoons garlic powder
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons butter4 cloves garlic, minced
4 tablespoons brown sugarwhite rice, to serve
steamed vegetables, to serve
1 Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
2 In a nonstick saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
3 Add chicken and sear on both sides for around 4 minutes each.
4 Sprinkle brown sugar on the top of chicken. Sear for another 2 minutes or until sugar has melted and chicken is fully cooked. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables, if desired.
Cooking tip: You can also bake the chicken in the oven. Place each chicken fillet on a piece of aluminium foil; top with butter, minced garlic, and brown sugar. Wrap and bake in a 350°f oven for 10 to 15 minutes
