DO oil up
Always brush the grill with oil before cooking. Not only will it keep food from sticking to the grill but it also makes for easier cleaning post-BBQ.

DON'T cover it
When grilling sliced vegetables such as tomatoes or eggplants, keep the lid off. This way, smoke and moist won't get trapped in, making the veggies soggy and dull in taste.

DON'T baste too early
Reserve sauce-basting for later when the meat is just about done. Saucing early on will only burn the sauce and make it taste awful.
