1 In a pot, cover eggs with water up to an inch above them. Add a pinch of salt to make the shells easier to peel. Cover pot with lid.
2 Bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, lower the heat and bring to a simmer.
3 Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes for soft-boiled eggs; 4 to 5 minutes for medium-boiled; and 10 to 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. Drain water and place eggs in cold water afterwards.
