For beginners in the kitchen, the simpler the recipe is, the better. In fact, a long list of ingredients with a similarly long procedure is just intimidating to more experienced bakers and cooks as it would be to a beginner.

This is because the fear of failure is high and wasting those ingredients is a risk that many of us do not want to make. That's where these awesome 3-ingredient cake recipes come in. Recipes such as these have been around for years but it's just as popular now as it was then when it first came out.

These recipes use 3 specific ingredients, and the good news is that it's just as simple to make as it is to gather the ingredients. Want to try one? Here are 3-ingredient cake recipes to try the next time you want to satisfy your sweet tooth:

1 Japanese Cheesecake Recipe

A fluffy Japanese cheesecake is very different from the dense and silky baked or no-bake cheesecakes that we all know. This cheesecake, in particular, takes white chocolate, cream cheese, and eggs and transforms these ingredients into this chiffon-like cake. It's sweet from the chocolate, tangy from the cheese, and light and airy because of the eggs.

2 Nutella Cake

This recipe has been around for years! One of the first recipes to come out was from OnePotChefShow back in 2015 who made it using just Nutella, flour, and eggs. The recipe is super simple and basically uses Nutella instead of butter and sugar in a regular cake recipe. The spread is whipped with the eggs using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy before all-purpose flour is folded in carefully. The whipped egg mixture is what gives the cake its lift when it's baked in the oven.

The resulting cake is a dense, decadent cake that you might not believe only needed 3 ingredients!

3 Lotus Biscoff Cake

The Biscoff cake recipe is a recipe that takes its cue from the flourless chocolate cake recipe. A flourless chocolate cake recipe uses melted chocolate, butter, sugar, and eggs. The idea behind the Biscoff cake recipe is that the Biscoff spread is the substitute for the melted chocolate, butter, and sugar. This recipe commonly uses a lot of eggs to make it rise in the oven!

For this cake to need fewer eggs, this recipe from Fitwaffle on Instagram tweaked it by using baking powder to help the cake rise better in the oven. The cake is still dense, delicious, and with the added melted Biscoff poured on top, irresistibly delicious!
