WATCH: This Honey Cake Is The Sweetest Treat

We infused this almond flour cake with the sweetness of honey and a hint of lemon for a dense yet moist cake. It's a sweet concoction that anyone won't be able to resist!  

Honey Lemon Cake Recipe

  • Takes 65 minutes 
  • Makes 8 servings 
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest from 1 lemon
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, sifted
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted 
  • For topping:
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 Heat the oven to 300 degrees F.
  • 2 Grease and line with baking parchment an 8-inch cake pan. Set aside.
  • 3 In a large bowl, cream the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy. Add and beat in the eggs, one at a time. Add the egg yolk. Add and stir in the vanilla and lemon zest. Then add and fold in the almond flour, baking soda, and flour until well mixed.
  • 4 Transfer the batter into the prepared pan, and bake for 60 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack. Remove cake from the pan and discard parchment paper. 
  • 5 Brush still warm cake with honey and top with almonds. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
