It’s easy to put together the homemade version of these favorite candy bars, it costs half as much to make. Your favorite candy is just a few ingredients and a little effort away:

DIY Peanut Butter Cups

These DIY Reese’s cups are proof that peanut butter and chocolate is an unbeatable combination!

To Make: Mix 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 1/2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter, and 1/2 confectioner’s sugar in a small bowl. Then, melt 1 1/3 cups chopped dark chocolate, 1 1/3 cups chopped milk chocolate, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter in the microwave on High until melted, stirring. Fill small (1-ounce) paper candy cups halfway up with the melted chocolate. Drop 1 teaspoon peanut butter mixture and fill with more melted chocolate. Repeat with remaining mixtures. Refrigerate until completely set. Makes 1 dozen.

DIY Chocolate Wafer Bars

Got wafers and chocolate in the pantry? Then you’ve got a Kit Kat bar in your hands ready to make.

To Make: Cut 12 long chocolate wafer cookies in half, lengthwise. Set aside. Melt 1 2/3 cup chopped milk chocolate on High until melted, stirring between 30 second bursts. Dip each wafer cookie in the melted chocolate and place on parchment paper. Repeat with another wafer cookie and place beside the already coated wafer cookie to allow melted chocolate to run together, making a two-piece bar. Repeat with remaining cookies. Makes 12 2-piece bars.
