COOKING WITH NEWBIES: How To Make Easy Cupcakes
This newbie discovers that baking isn't as scary and intimidating as some may think.
If you've seen other episodes of Cooking With Newbies, you now know how easy it is for someone new to cooking to make rainbow puto, bistek Tagalog, and even an easy fried rice recipe every morning. However, cooking isn't the only kitchen task that can be done in the kitchen. You can also bake!
However, are you one of those people who are too intimidated to attempt to bake or are even scared to bake? Then this is the episode you need to watch! While we agree that it's a science, there's nothing to fear from baking, especially when you have an expert to help you through every step of the way.
That's how we helped our newbie on the latest episode of Cooking With Newbies.
This week, we welcomed baking newbie, photographer, blogger, and videographer Mark Tan of eatsplorations.com to the Yummy.ph kitchen. Just like all the other newbies on the show, he had some expert help through every step of the way from writer, recipe developer, and former Yummy magazine editor Idge Mendiola.
He said he can't bake (-3 on a scale of 1 to 10!), but it didn't take long for Mark to realize it's easy enough to significantly level up his skills.
Mark's first baking project is a recipe that any baker can do because it's easy, tasty, and cheesy. Cheese cupcakes are Pinoy cupcakes that don't need any frosting at all to make it delicious and appetizing. It's a panderia staple that, according to Idge, even kids younger than 10 years old can make.
He learned that not only are cupcakes easy to make, he also didn't need any special equipment, like an electric mixer, to do it. It can all be done by hand, and this is something that any new baker, including Mark, can relate to because not everyone will already have the necessary baking tools when attempting their very first baking project.
Are you at least 10 years old? If you answered "Yes", then that means you, too, can make this easy cupcake recipe!
