This bananas-and-cream dessert is bound to be a hit with family and friends. Chill before serving, it's best served cold.

Banana Pudding

1/4 cup flour
dash of salt
1 1/4 cups milk
3/4 cup condensed milk
egg yolk from 1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3-4 bananas, sliced
broas (ladyfingers), as needed
egg whites from 2 large eggs
1/8 cup sugar
1 Preheat oven to 300°F.
2 Combine milk, condensed milk, egg yolks, and vanilla. Mix until well-combined. Set aside.
3 Make the pudding mixture: In a medium-sized sauce pan, combine flour and salt.
Gradually add the milk mixture, stir well and cook for around 3 minutes or until thick.
Remove from heat and set aside.
4 Make the meringue: In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites while gradually adding the sugar. Whip until stiff peaks form.
5 Arrange banana slices in a baking dish. Spoon one half of the pudding mixture and layer
with broas. Top with a layer of meringue.
6 Bake at 300°F for 15-20 minutes. Chill before serving.
