We think we just found a way to satisfy everyone who adores fruitcake and those who prefer brownies during the Christmas season. This uses a light brownie-like batter that's similar to a butterscotch brownie recipe but has the mix-ins of a fruitcake.

The classic fruitcake has glazed fruits such as cherries, pineapple, and ginger. In this recipe, raisins or dried grapes are added to give the bars another fruity flavor. Plus, these light fruit bars become even more irresistible with a piped layer of cream cheese frosting on top. How can you say "no" to that?
