Didn’t think burgers can go beyond the usual bun-patty-veggies-bun combo? You can actually experiment with more adventurous and delicious options. It all boils down to the ingredients you use and the drinks you pair with your burgers.
We made a list of four delicious and creative burger recipes that require minimal effort. These are great for when you’re entertaining guests or if you’re looking for something different. Hash Potato Burgers
Ingredients:
3 medium potatoes, peeled and shredded
1 medium size egg
¼ cup cheddar cheese, grated
500 grams ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper
Oil for frying
1 tablespoon butter
1 To make the hash brown: Peel and shred potatoes. Place shredded potatoes in cold water and stir. Drain and repeat to remove excess starch. Squeeze out excess moisture and dry on paper towel.
2 In another bowl, mix egg and cheese. Combine egg and hash brown.
3 Heat oil in pan over medium heat. Add hash brown mixture to pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
4 To make the caramelized onion: Heat oil and butter in pan over low-medium heat. Add onions, season with salt, and cook for 15-20 minutes until caramelized. Set aside.
5 To make the patty: Mold the patty then place in the fridge until ready to cook. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
6 Heat oil over high heat, add patty and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side or until preferred doneness is achieved.
7 To assemble: Use hash brown as your bun, add patty, caramelized onion, and another hash brown. Serve while hot.
Breakfast Burger
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
pinch of salt
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
60 grams butter melted (about 1/4 cup)
500 grams ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
Pepper
2 strips bacon
1 To make the pancake: In a bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder. Add sugar.
2 On a separate bowl, mix together milk and 2 eggs. Add melted butter. Whisk together the wet and dry ingredients. In a non stick pan, add the batter. Once bubbly, flip on the other side.
3 To make the patty: Mix together ground beef, garlic powder, and dried rosemary. Mold the patty then place in the fridge until ready to cook. Season with salt and pepper on each side right before cooking.
4 Heat oil over high heat, add patty, and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side or until preferred doneness is achieved.
5 Cook bacon until crispy. Ideally 5-10 minutes over medium-high heat.
6 To assemble: Use pancake as bun, add the patty on top, add fried egg, bacon, and another layer of pancake. Serve while hot.
Grilled Cheese Burger
Ingredients:
500 grams ground beef
½ teaspoon cumin
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1 pc tomato, sliced
Lettuce, sliced
Square cheese
1 clove garlic, grated
¼ cup flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
1/8 cup Fresh Chives, finely chopped
½ cup Mayonnaise
2-3 tablespoon Sour Cream
Cayenne pepper (optional)
1 To make the patty: Mix together ground beef and cumin. Mold the patty then place in the fridge until ready to cook. Season with salt and pepper on each side right before cooking.
2 Heat oil over high heat, add patty, and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side or until preferred doneness is achieved.
3 To make the ranch dressing: Combine garlic, parsley, chives, mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, and cayenne in a bowl. Mix until well combined. Chill in the fridge until ready to use.
4 To assemble: Layer bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, and bun. Serve while hot.
Crispy Chicken Burger
Ingredients:
500 grams chicken thigh fillet
1 cup buttermilk or 1 tbsp of vinegar + 1 cup milk (let side for 5 minutes)
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Oil for frying
1 cup flour, season with salt and pepper
1 large egg, beaten and seasoned with salt and pepper
2 cups breadcrumbs
1 cup cabbage, shredded or very thinly sliced
½ cup carrot, julienned or shredded
¼ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
2-3 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
3 cloves garlic, grated
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 To make the chicken: Combine buttermilk, cayenne, and salt in a bowl. Mix until well combined then add the chicken. Marinate for at least one hour.
2 Heat oil over medium to high heat. Take out chicken and remove excess buttermilk. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour then dip into the egg mixture then coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure chicken is well coated. Cook for about 5-8 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken.
3 To make the coleslaw: Whip together sour cream, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Season with salt & pepper. Add cabbage and carrot and mix thoroughly. Chill before serving.
4 To make the aioli: Combine garlic, mayonnaise, lemon, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
5 To assemble: Layer bun, chicken, coleslaw, aioli, and bun. Serve while hot.
