5 Easy Chicken Recipes for First-Time Cooks

If you're still learning your way around the kitchen, cooking from scratch can be a daunting task. However, one trip to the supermarket will expose you to food finds that are newbie-friendly, like the new Magnolia 3-Way Chicken.

Chicken Caldereta

Serves 4-5 people

 

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1/2 kilo potatoes, peeled and quartered

1 pack Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Tomato

4 cups water

1 85-gram can liver spread

1 medium carrot, sliced 

2 red bell peppers, seeded and sliced

1/2 cup green peas

 

1 Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add potatoes and fry for five to 10 minutes or until brown. Set aside.

2 In a medium pot over medium heat, brown Magnolia 3-Way Chicken. Add water and cover. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.

3 Add liver spread and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Add potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and green peas. Cover and let it simmer for 10 more minutes. 

 

Chicken Adobo sa Gata

Serves 4-5 people

 

1 tablespoon cooking oil

4 cups water

1 pack Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Gata

 

1 In a medium pot over medium heat, brown Magnolia 3-Way Pack Chicken.

2 Add water and simmer for 10 minutes.

 

Chicken Curry

Serves 4-5 people

 

1 tablespoon cooking oil

4 cups water

1 pack Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Gata

1/2 kilo potatoes, peeled and quartered

1 medium carrot, sliced 

 

1 In a medium pot over medium heat, brown Magnolia 3-Way Pack Chicken.

Add water and cover. Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. 

3 Add potatoes and carrots. Cover and let it simmer for five minutes.

 

Tinola

 

Serves 4-5 people

 

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1 pack Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Ginger 

4 cups water

1 piece medium green papaya, peeled and sliced

1 bundle sili leaves 

1 tablespoon patis

 

1 In a medium pan over medium heat, brown the chicken from the Magnolia 3-Way Pack.

2 Add water and papaya. Cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

3 Add sili leaves. Cover and let it simmer for a minute.

Season with patis to taste.

 

Arroz Caldo

Serves 4-5 people

 

1 tablespoon cooking oil

1 pack Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Ginger

4-5 cups water

1/4 cup regular rice, soaked in water then drained

1/4 cup glutinous (malagkit) rice, soaked in water then drained

1 tablespoon patis

 

In a pot over medium heat, brown Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Pack in oil.

Add water and rice. Cover and simmer until the rice is cooked.

Season with patis and serve.
