Reader Recipe Of The Week: Adobong Kangkong With Tausi
Here's an easy way to add flavors to this easy veggie dish.
According to Yummy.ph reader Cheftopher, the addition of tausi (or fermented black beans) add a layer of umami to the usual flavors in adobong kangkong. This easy-to-make dish is usually made with an adobo sauce with the usual adobo staples: soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and black peppercorns. Liempo or any kind of pork cut gives this vegetable dish extra heft, texture, and flavors. By adding tausi, you add a boost of umami. Make sure not to put too much tausi, though. It has bold salty flavors that may overwhelm the who dish.
