Cheesy Egg Pandesal Recipe

Here's how you add an extra layer of creaminess to your favorite morning meal.

Pinoys often start their breakfast with a myriad of savory fried dishes like tuyo, tocino, longganisa and tapa – served with garlic fried rice and egg. But what if you don’t have the time to whip up a classic Filipino breakfast complete with Kapeng Barako and a spicy sawsawan?

Try out this quick and filling pandesal recipe made with Arla Cheesy Spread. Arla Cheesy Spread is made from 90% fresh cow’s milk and is rich in Calcium and Vitamin A.

6 pieces pandesal

Arla Cheesy Spread

Medium-sized eggs

Mayonnaise

1 Make the scrambled egg: in a medium-sized bowl, whisk the egg until fluffy.

2 Add a teaspoon of mayonnaise and Arla Cheesy Spread, whisk until ingredients are well incorporated. Set aside.

3 Add butter in a pan over medium heat.

4 Cook scrambled egg until fluffy.

5 Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

6 Toast pandesal until crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside.

7 Put cooked scrambled egg on toasted pandesal and top with shredded cheese.

Add a twist!

Fry some honey cured bacon to crispy perfection. Lay the crispy bacon first before putting on the scrambled egg and shredded cheese. You can also dice the bacon to tiny tidbits and sprinkle it on top of the shredded cheese.

If you’re a ham lover, fry up some of your favorite smoked ham and top it on your cheesy scrambled egg before sprinkling some shredded cheese. You can also use corned beef or sausage depending on your preference.

For veggie lovers, chop up some fresh spinach and mix it with Arla Cheesy Spread for a delicious cheese and spinach pandesal!
