Stews are comforting, meaty, dishes that are perfect for a fully satisfying meal. It's a way of cooking that many cuisines use in their dishes: Japanese, Korean, American, Spanish, and Filipino stews each have their own distinct flavors. Though each one has a difference though, they're all great comfort food.

Sadly, some things can go wrong. When you're making stews, whether it's chicken, beef, or pork, you run the risk of getting less flavorful meat as the flavor of your meat seeps into the sauce. There's a cooking technique you can do that you might think is the price of getting a more flavorful stew, but you'll not only get flavorful meat, you'll also get juicy, tender meat

To make your meat  juicy and flavorful, you need to first brown your meat. To do this, here are the steps to follow:

  • 1 You need to get your oil hot in your pan, then, add in your meat. Make sure your oil is hot enough so that it cooks the surface of the meat quickly, instead of cooking it through. Oil that's hot enough will also make sure that your meat doesn't stick on your pan.
  • 2 Don't disturb the meat before it can form a brown crust. You're waiting for the Malliard reaction to happen that will give the flavor of your meat more depth. Stirring it too often may  evenly cook your meat, but prevents it from forming a crust.
  • 3 Once a side of the meat has browned, turn it to brown the other side. Then, you can set aside your meat first to cook another batch, or add in your liquids.

Once you've browned all your meat, the only thing left to do is put the remaining ingredients into the pot, bring it to a boil, simmer until your meat has been tenderized, and then discover that it's as fllavoful as it can be.

This is the best way to maximize the flavor of your meat when making stews. Don't just depend on the sauce of your stew. Your protein should still be the main star! Why don't you try it out this trick with these stew recipes?
