Always cook it twice!

What makes Korea's fried chicken different and technically unique from the American-style fried chicken? Both are arguably super delicious and both have super crispy outer coatings but while the flavors of the resulting fried chicken dishes range as widely as its opposing locations, from east to west. The brine is what gives the American chicken its signature tasty flair while the Korean chicken is commonly dripping with a super flavorful sauce. 

The Korean fried chicken first made its appearance in the 1970s but it wasn't until the '80s that it soared to addictive heights. It was only time before its unique flavors and takes on the American style of fried chicken would win the hearts of those from other countries, including the Pinoy.      

There's a world of difference between these two types of fried chicken but both are supremely delicious and crunchy in their own way. The Korean style however is unique in that it's not just fried once, but twice. This achieves two things: it ensures that the chicken is cooked through and that the chicken skin is audibly crispy on the outside.
