This easy chicken appetizer will have everyone asking for seconds! This works as both merienda and appetizer-serve with gravy, ketchup, or your favorite chili sauce on the side.

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon minced garlic (or grocery-bought garlic powder)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
oil, for frying
1/2 kilo chicken breast fillet, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 medium eggs
In a medium-sized bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper together. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper until combined.
Dip the chicken fillet cuts one by one in egg, then dredge in the flour-cornstarch mixture. Repeat the procedure then deep-fry in a pot with preheated oil until golden brown.
Serve with mushroom gravy (optional).
