Dark Chocolate Champorado

Makes 2 servings

1/2 cup glutinous rice
2 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup dark chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar, more as needed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sweetened condensed milk, to serve (optional)

1Â Pour rice into a medium-sized saucepan. Add water. Cook glutinous rice over medium heat, stirring constantly until the rice is transparent in color and gooey in texture.

2 Add dark chocolate, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until chocolate has melted and sugar has dissolved. Stir in more sugar as desired. Serve in warmed bowls with condensed milk drizzled on top, if desired.
