Slightly sweet, this deep-fried chicken dish is a popular Chinese fastfood dish that you can recreate at home.
1/2 kilo chicken thigh fillet, sliced into bite-sized pieces
1/2 tablespoon cooking oil
3 tablespoons Chinese wine
2 tablespoons chicken stock
salt and pepper, to taste
1 Mix together chicken, beaten egg, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
2 Deep-fry chicken in preheated oil until crispe and golden brown. Set aside.
3 Make the sauce: In a saucepan, heat oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add Chinese wine, soy sauce, chicken stock, vinegar, and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil and cook until it thickens.
4 Toss fried chicken in the sauce until well-coated.
5 Transfer to a plate and top with green onions. Serve immediately.
