Jollibee-Style Burger Steak
Â
Takes 30 minutes
Makes 4Â pattiesÂ
Â
1/4 kilogram ground beef
2 medium red onions, peeled, finely grated
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/4 cup sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 beef bouillon cube
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup water
Steamed rice, to serve
Â
Â
1 In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onions, salt, and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions. Form into balls and flatten into burger patties.
Â
2 Heat oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 patties into the pan and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from pan and transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining patties. Set aside.
Â
3 In the same pan, drain excess oil until about 2 tablespoons remain. Add then sauté mushrooms. Add beef cube and stir until dissolved in the oil. Â
Â
4 Sprinkle in flour and onion powder, and stir to combine with the mushrooms, seasonings, and oil. While stirring, pour in water. Stir until flour mixture is dissolved. Bring to a boil, stirring, until mixture is thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve gravy poured over burgers and rice.
