This meatball-and-noodle Pinoy soup is always a comforting dish! It's made with misua or fine rice noodles, pork meatballs, and vegetables. Make this soup your own by adding grated carrots for texture and garnish it with leeks.

For the meatballs:
1/2 kilogram ground pork
1 egg
1 small onion, chopped
1/8 cup all-purpose flour
salt and pepper, for seasoning

2 tablespoon oil
6 cloves garlic, chopped
5 cups water
fish sauce (patis), for seasoning
1 medium patola (Chinese okra), sliced into 2-inch pieces
1 250-gram pack misua (fine rice noodles)

1 Make the meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, half of the onion, egg, salt, ground black pepper, and flour. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated. Shape into meatballs, then set aside.

2 Preheat oil in a saucepan and fry each meatball until cooked.

3 Once the meatballs are cooked, add the garlic and remaining onions, mix until fragrant. Add patis (fish sauce) to taste and cook for a minute. Pour-in water and let boil.

4 Add the patola and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the misua noodles and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes or until noodles are cooked. Serve immediately.
