WATCH: How To Make Squid Balls

Make a big batch of this street food so you can have it any time you want.

These squid-flavored balls are bigger and more tasty than those you can find on the streets. You can have all the balls you want when you make these at home, and best of all, you can cook these until every single ball is as pale and soft or as toasted as you want. Yum!

Squid Balls

Takes 55 minutes

Makes 6 servings

400 grams squid

250 grams white fish fillets

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 cloves garlic, peeled

1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons sesame oil

Place squid, fish fillets, flour, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, pepper, salt, sugar, and sesame oil into the bowl of a food processor. Grind the ingredients until it reaches a paste consistency.

Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Form the mixture into balls using two spoons.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop each ball into the hot water, and cook until balls are firm. Drain, set aside, and chill in the refrigerator again.

Once cooled down, store in the freezer or until needed.

When ready to cook, fry the balls on medium heat until golden brown. Serve while hot with sweet chili sauce.
