If you grew up using a turbo broiler to cook a whole chicken, you know how fast and easy it is to use. The turbo broiler was once the "oven" of the home cook. This home appliance is an old school appliance, but it's just as effective and useful to home cooks then as it is now.

Did you have one and miss the way it "broiled" a whole chicken in less than an hour? If you do, you are not alone. Many home cooks miss having a turbo broiler at home but have graduated to either the air fryer or an oven.

If you miss having the speed and convenience of a turbo broiler, we know how you can use your oven as if it were a turbo broiler. The change from an oven to an appliance that is like a turbo broiler is easy and simple. Most modern ovens have both of these settings, and both can be turned on and off. These settings are:

  • • top heat
  • • oven fan

The main heating element of the turbo broiler is on the heavy lid. The lid also houses the fan. It's these two functions that can help your oven mimic the turbo broiler.
