Steamed Fish with Vietnamese Dressing

This recipe is not only easy to make, it's incredibly healthy too!

Take your steamed fish recipe to a whole new level by adding a dash of delicious Vietnamese dressing!

Serves: 2

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 to 12 minutes

 

1 (1 1/2 inch) piece ginger, peeled and sliced

4 stalks lemongrass, white and light green parts only, sliced in half lengthwise

300 to 400 grams white fish fillets (sole, dory or tilapia), sliced into 3-inch pieces

For the dressing:

2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions

2 cloves garlic, minced finely

1 tablespoon finely minced ginger

2 tablespoons fish sauce (patis)

1 tablespoon calamansi or lime juice

1 tablespoon sugar

1 to 2 bird’s eye chili (siling labuyo), chopped finely (optional)

1 bunch cilantro leaves

1 bunch dill

4 to 5 stalks green onions, sliced diagonally

1 Arrange ginger and lemongrass in a steamer basket and place fish fillets on top.

2 Steam for 10 to 12 minutes or until fish is coked and the flesh flakes easily when prodded with a knife.

3 While steaming fish, cook the pasta according to packaging instructions.

4 Make the dressing: Mix together green onions, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, calamansi juice, water, sugar and chilis.

5 Sprinkle cilantro, dill and green onions on top of the fish.

6 Drizzle with prepared dresing.
