How often do you start your day with a filling silog dish? If you’re like most Pinoys, you probably enjoy it every day or as often as you can. Silogs are Filipinos go-to breakfast, because it’s easy to make and it has everything you need in a meal to start your day.

Pinoys also have a knack for mixing and matching dishes and condiments. A typical silog plate can be personalized, from the meat you will use to the sawsawan that will go with it.

Tapsilog

The key to a delicious tapsilog is to get the best variety of beef tapa. Make it even more savory with a dash of Knorr Liquid Seasoning and some calamansi and soy sauce on the side.

 

Ingredients:

1/4 kilo beef tapa

1/2 cup Knorr Liquid Seasoning

2 cloves garlic

1/2 cup soda

1 tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoons oil

 

Procedure:

Marinate beef tapa in Knorr Liquid Seasoning, garlic, soda, and sugar for 30 minutes to an hour. Set aside.

Preheat non-stick pan, saute marinated beef tapa, and add pepper.

Serve with egg, atchara, and garlic rice.

 

Chicken Silog

Don’t think fried chicken is not suitable for breakfast! Just get the right size of chicken breast, marinate it, and you’ve got yourself a filling chicksilog to start your day right.

 

Ingredients: 

1 tablespoon oil

1 small onion, minced

1/4 kilo chicken breast, diced

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

3 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning

1 piece green chili, sliced

 

Procedure:

Preheat non-stick pan and saute onion and chicken breast.

Add mayonnaise, Knorr Liquid Seasoning, and green chili.

Serve with egg, atchara, and garlic rice.

 

Crispy Bacon Silog

As if bacon wasn’t already special enough, coat it with flour and cornstarch, pair it with a dip, and it’s even tastier than your typical baconsilog.

 

Ingredients:

1/4 cup oil

6 pieces bacon, sliced in half

1/8 cup flour

1/8 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup Knorr Liquid Seasoning

1 cup mayonnaise

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon pepper

 

Procedure:

Mix flour and cornstarch in a bowl.

Dredge bacon strips in flour and cornstarch mixture.

Fry dredged bacon strips until brown and crispy. Set aside.

4 To make the dip, Mix Knorr Liquid Seasoning, mayonnaise, garlic, honey, and pepper.

5 Serve with egg, atchara, and garlic rice.

 

Bangus Belly Silog

If you’re looking for a lighter and healthier breakfast option, start your day with bangus belly and some slices of tomatoes on the side.

 

Ingredients:

2 pieces bangus belly

2 tablespoons vinegar

2 cloves garlic

2 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning

1/4 cup flour

 

Procedure:

Mix vinegar, garlic, and Knorr Liquid Seasoning in a bowl. 

Brush bangus belly with vinegar mixture.

Dredge bangus belly in flour before frying.

Serve with egg, atchara, and garlic rice.

 

Hotdog Silog

If you have kids at home, serve them hotdogsilog. You can even make a delicious egg omelet to go with it and a warm cup of milk chocolate to wash it down.

 

Ingredients:

2 pieces jumbo hotdog

1 tablespoon oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1/4 cup oyster sauce

2 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning

1/4 cup white sugar

 

Procedure:

Saute onion and hotdogs.

Add oyster sauce, Knorr Liquid Seasoning, and sugar.

Serve with egg, atchara, and garlic rice.
