5 Tips for Smarter Grocery Shopping

Start these habits on your next grocery trip: smarter shopping will make this task much easier!

Grocery shopping can either be therapuetic or stressful depending on how you go about the task. Be a smart grocery shopper: these hacks will make your life much easier. 


1  Make a list, and stick to it. 

The most frustrating feeling is arriving home from a grocery trip and realizing that you forgot to grab some tomatoes for the spaghetti you wanted to cook that night. List down everything you need, and your grocery trip will be completely stress-free. 



2  BYOB.

Bring your own reusable bag or bayong! This habit will reduce waste and will save time on pack up: several large reusable bags will be much easier to both pack and unpack as opposed to using a lot of those little environmentally harmful plastic bags. 



3  Do not go to the grocery hungry. 

Trust us, the only item you will notice is that bag of chips. Avoid binge-buys on unhealthy snacks and junk food. Have a small snack before heading out to do your shopping. 




4  Leave a cooler or insulated bag at the back of your car. 

Keep your meats and dairy products in safe, cool temperatures by placing them in a cooler right after shopping. Now, you won't have to worry about anything melting or thawing if you have anothe errand to run or if you get stuck in traffic!



5  Be familiar with your supermarket.

Know which day of the week your grocery brings in the freshest produce and proteins. It will help to chat with grocery personnel to find out more about delivery days to help you gauge when the best days for groceries are.
