You Can Flavor Pastillas and Polvoron with Mango, Mocha, and Milo—Here’s How
Mango pastillas and cookies and cream-flavored polvoron? We want more!

Filipino desserts are simple to make and fun to eat. Pastillas is a sticky, sweet, milky treat that is made up of a basic mix of condensed milk and egg yolks. Polvoron is a powdery sweet that consists of toasted flour, milk powder, butter, and sugar. Both come together quickly and are no-bake recipes!
We came up with a few ideas to add other layers of flavor and texture into these Pinoy desserts classics. Try making these 4 quick recipes with the kids! Everyone will enjoy putting flavored pastillas and polvoron together.
Mango Pastillas Recipe
Use the ripe yellow mangoes to make this simple pastillas recipe.
Place 3 cups powdered milk in a large bowl and make a well in the center. Pour in 1/2 (168-ml) can condensed milk and the flesh from 1 mango (pureed). Mix until well combined. Scoop out mixture and roll into a ball. Roll in powdered sugar. Repeat with the remaining mixture. Makes 40.
Mocha Pastillas Recipe
Any coffee lovers in here?
Place 3 cups powdered milk and 1 teaspoon instant coffee in a bowl. Pour in 1/2 (168-ml) can condensed milk into the mixture; mix well. Transfer mixture to a clean, sugar-sprinkles work surface. Using a rolling pin, roll mixture until 1/4-inch thick. Cut into 1 1/2-inch-wide strips and roll into logs. Slice into 2-inch lengths. Makes 40.
Cookies and Cream Polvoron Recipe
Add a layer of extra crunch to smooth and powdery polvoron!
Toast 1 cup all-purpose flour in a pan over medium-low heat for 15 minutes or until light brown in color. Stir continuously so the flour doesn't burn. Let cool. Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup powdered milk, and 1/4 cup softened butter in a bowl. Mix 1/4 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (filling removed) into the bowl. Shape mixtures using a polvoron mold. Makes 25.
Milo Polvoron Recipe
This polvoron recipe is milky with a touch of chocolate!
Toast 1 cup all-purpose flour in a pan over medium-low heat for 15 minutes or until light brown in color. Stir continuously so the flour doesn't burn. Let cool. Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup powdered milk, and 1/4 cup softened butter in a bowl. Mix 1 to 2 (22-gram) Milo chocolate milk into the bowl. Shape mixtures using a polvoron mold. Makes 25.
