How To Make An Epic Ice Cream Sundae At Home

Summer is the perfect time to indulge in all things icy and delicious!Â
What's fun about this delicious project is putting all of your favorite ingredients together! If you love nuts but hate marshmallows, there's no need to add it in if you don't want to. Plus, no ube ice cream at the store? Make it! You have the power to create the best kind of summer dessert that's specially made for you because you are making it.Â
If you're ready to launch the creation of an epic sundae this summer, here are all the ingredients you need to make it happen:Â

1 Make homemade ice cream.Â
It takes some time and a little effort to make homemade ice cream but we can assure you that the results are well worth it all. These ice creams can be easy to make if you use the ingredients right. Remember to always use chilled ingredients so your cream becomes whipped and light and your ingredients don't melt or soften necessarily when added to the hot custard base when it should not.   Â
Make it tonight, freeze it, and tomorrow you'll be treated with a lusciously creamy mix that you will be eager to pile on into your bowl. Here are our favorite homemade, no-churn ice cream recipes to try if you're not planning on going out:Â

2 Add fruits!Â
The typical sundae that might pop into your mind is the banana split. This is a decadent bowl made of a whole banana, split in half, and at least three scoops of your favorite ice cream placed in between the halves before being topped off with nuts, sprinkles, and a drippy syrup. That humble banana might have started it all when it comes to fruits in sundaes!  Â
You'll love the fact that you do not have to stick to bananas. Fresh berries such as strawberries, blueberries, and even raspberries and blackberries can be found in select stores if you're curious to try these exotic fruits. You can also go local and add mango chunks, dalandan and pomelo slices, melon balls, and even watermelon cubes to your sundae.Â

3 Add candy, chopped nuts, sprinkles, and other toppings. Â
The topping is where you can totally go crazy! These can be as simple as chopped peanuts, candy-coated chocolate, or sprinkles. However, who said you had to only have one of these? Add three kinds of chopped nuts, colored candy bits, shaved chocolate, chopped chocolate, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate vermicelli, and more! Just remember to add just enough and not too much that your ice cream will be overwhelmed and you'll have a hard time eating each spoonful of your sundae dessert.  Â

4 Finish off the sundae with syrups and sauces.Â
The toppings of a sundae are not the end. There are the syrups and dessert sauces that you might want to add to finish it off. This can be a simple chocolate syrup from a bottle that you use for pancakes and milk chocolate drinks but this is just as delicious on ice cream, too.
Got thick and gooey caramel or sticky strawberry jam that you just love? You can drizzle either of these gooey things over your ice cream. If you're having a hard time drizzling, warm it up slightly in the container in hot water or microwave it on High for 5 seconds just to get it to that drippy stage. Then watch as you easily spoon it over the ice cream and the coolness of the ice cream instantly thickens it right back up. Â
Make your favorite ice cream flavors even more appetizing and irresistible just by transforming it into a sundae. You can even make it super simple and warm up a brownie or cookie, and topping it with a scoop of ice cream, a topping of nuts and candy bits, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Anything that's ala mode is just another sundae made different.Â
How are you going to celebrate the summer with ice cream? Â
