These knives are perfect for doing quick prep work with softer fruits and veggies: chopping onions, tomatoes, and garlic, and slicing fruit into ultra-thin slices. You'll be able to have good control over the precision of your cuts.

 

 

Ceramic knives, however, shouldn't be used as a replacement for the necessary chef's knife. Its lightweight and brittle ceramic material cannot handle breaking through bones of meat or seeds of large fruit, and will most likely chip or break upon dropping. While it can be a useful addition to your kitchen tools, remember to avoid heavy prep work when you bring them out for a spin.
