Polvoron, the sweet, powdery treat that Pinoys love to munch on, is often found in small bakeries or specialty shops in and around the city. You'll find them wrapped in different colors of cellophane and in a variety of flavors-plain butter, studded with pinipig, covered in chocolate, or tinged purple with ube.

 

You only need  a handful of ingredients to make polvoron: flour, sugar, milk powder, and butter. Try our basic polvoron recipe here:

 

 

It's an easy treat to make at home! You can also easily upgrade polvoron by using brown butter in the mix.

All you have to do it check out the kitchen supplies aisle of your nearest major grocery. The aisle will be easy to spot and is often located near the edges of supermarkets-there will be cake pans, leche flan molds, cookie sheets, and ensaymada molds in the aisle, too.
