These New Local Chocolates Recently Won International Awards
Proof that our local chocolates are really, really good.
Local brand 1919 Chocolate recently garnered its second Silver Award for its 62% Dark Chocolate and a first Bronze Award for the 70% Dark Chocolate from the prestigious Academy of Chocolate 2021 under the Tree-to-Bar category. The Academy of Chocolate identifies and recognizes the best producers and chocolates around the world.
The chocolates are made with cacao beans sourced from a family farm in Malvar, Batangas that is home to fruit-bearing heirloom Criollo cacao trees, some of which are almost 100 years old! Check out all the different chocolate bars and chocolate products from 1919 Chocolate:
62% Dark Chocolate
This is the bar that received the Silver Award from the prestigious Academy of Chocolate 2020 & 2021.
70% Dark Chocolate
A dark chocolate bar that showcases the unique flavor profile of local cacao. This bar also recently won a Bronze Award from the Academy of Chocolate 2021.
Milk & Cereal
Imagine one your favorite childhood flavors turned into a chocolate bar: it has toasted corn flakes folded into white chocolate!
Toasted Milk & Strawberry
Creamy white chocolate is combined with tart strawberries! It's made with cocoa butter, toasted milk powder, raw cane sugar and freeze-dried strawberries.
This is a delicious different take on your usual chocolate bar: you get cinnamon and nutty flavors from the almond and rice milk, and cocoa butter.
1919 Chocolate also has premium tablea which you may use for hot chocolate, champorado, and for baking, plus a chocolate hazelnut spread made with cacao nibs, raw cane sugar, roasted hazelnuts and salt.
