What's so special about am.pm's Japanese souffle pancakes? Well, here's what you need to know:

Am.pm's name comes from the period of time: a.m., which means ante meridiem (before noon), and p.m., which means post meridiem (post noon). The reason why a souffle pancake store is named after it is because it's the best eaten in the morning for breakfast and in the afternoon for merienda. Why not have both, right?

Souffle pancakes aren't your typical diner pancakes. These Japanese pancakes are distinctly known for their softness and lightness, not to mention the cloud-like mouthfeel. You can actually take a sneak peek of how am.pm's does their souffle pancakes as it is done on the spot (they have an open kitchen!).

They will be serving a total of eight flavors of their souffle pancakes: the Original (P145), Tiramisu (P180), Shizuoka Matcha (P180), Mixed Berries (P180), Pearl Milk Tea (P210), Black Sugar Premium Milk (P210), a Manila-exclusive Ube (P180), and, of course, am.pm's signature Creme Brulee (P210). You can add soft serve ice cream on the side for P50.

Am.pm's signature creme brulee is the one that really catapulted them to fame and it's easy to understand why. What we love about this flavor is the slightly sweet custard cream that goes on top and falls down on the sides of the souffle pancakes like a waterfall. It's topped with granulated sugar that is torched to create a caramelized shell you can crack through to get to the souffle pancake. It doesn't have an overwhelming sweetness to it, which makes going through one whole serving of souffle pancake a piece of... pancake.

The menu also includes four flavors from their Lava Pudding Souffle Pancake series. There's the White Chocolate (P210), Dark Chocolate (P210), Forest Berries (P210), and the Shizuoka Matcha (P210). When you try this, don't forget to slice it open to let the lava filling ooze out of the pancake!

What to pair with your cloud-like pancakes? Cloud-like smoothies, of course! Am.pm beverage menu includes a Cloud Smoothies series with different flavors, like the Japanese Soda (P135), Lychee Rose (P135), Kyoto Matcha (P135), Mango Cream (P1335), Ube (P135), and Coconut Milk (P145). If you're into sweets, go for the Japanese Soda Cloud Smoothie which tastes like a fruity bubblegum soda.

The soft opening of am.pm will be next week, but there are no exact dates yet. Fortunately, the grand opening isn't too far away! Am.pm will be open to the public on October 26, 2019, and the first 150 customers will be given a FREE souffle each.

Am.pm is located at 2F (beside Fully Booked), Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, corner Aseana Ave, Paranaque City.
